The founder of Frodo's Notebook, Klotz is an essayist and poet, as well an associate director of the Words Work Network and former director of The Quill Society. He is an alumnus of the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts and a recipient of two national scholastic writing awards: the New York Times James B. Reston Portfolio Award and the Otto Friedrich Award in Journalism. His favorite writers include Dick Allen, Philip Levine, John Updike, Dashiell Hammett, and Virginia Woolf.
Julia Shields has loved to read and write poetry since she was a little girl, and was first inspired by T.S. Eliot’s poems about cats. Eliot remains among her favorite poets, along with e.e. cummings and musicians Sandra McCracken and Adam Duritz. Julia studies anthropology and Spanish, and recently spent a semester studying in Honduras. She also enjoys photography, and attends poetry slams and readings across the country.
Timothy has been reading and writing for as long as he can remember. He began using computers when he was 4 years old and he began doing amateur web design in the 8th grade. Timothy Graduated from Eastern University in May of 2005. He was married in October of the same year. Timothy, his wife Karin, and their cat Ogden live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
As an artist primarily, Mark Tebben understands the importance of not allowing financial concerns to interfere with artistic vision. Mark is a filmmaker and photographer from Grand Rapids, Michigan who now resides in Narberth, Pennsylvania. He enjoys works of art by, among others, Stanley Kubrick, U2, John Irving, and Dante.
